POSITION SUMMARY:

The Jogger is responsible for the jogging and piling of loads. Must be safety conscious at all times. Should check randomly the product coming off press for quality. Performs any related tasks assigned by pressmen or Pressroom Supervision.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Jog press product and stack neatly on skid according to pattern.
  • Responsible for setting up semi-automatic and automatic equipment that assists in stocking press product on skids.
  • Wash blankets and gum plates.
  • Pull loads and set up skids and move to staging area.
  • Empty waste containers.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in press area.
  • Help web up press.
  • Help mount blankets and plates.
  • Maintain daily supply of rags and chemicals; keep sponge bucket clean.
  • Help in mounting and setting up rolls.
  • Supports and cooperates with press crew as a team player.
  • Must be able to drive a fork truck and have a current fork truck license.
  • Performs all duties safely and in accordance with all safety rules and requirements.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality on all matters involving the pressroom department.
  • Maintains a positive customer relations approach towards visitors, customers, and employees.
  • Applies Arandell-Schmidt philosophy in dealing with internal and external publics.
  • Performs all special duties assigned by management.

EDUCATION

  • High School Graduate
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Technical degree is desirable.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
  • Previous jogger experience
  • Prior general worker
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to drive a fork truck and have a current fork truck license.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Stands, stoops, and walks most of the day.
  • Pushes, lifts, and carries equipment and materials up to 90 pounds.
  • Should have a mechanical aptitude in order to operate and maintain a wide variety of equipment.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Performs assigned tasks despite frequent interruptions and with consideration for persons in the vicinity.
  • Can have no fear of heights.
  • Able to work in confined areas.
  • Must have excellent color vision.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and overtime.
